The modern world’s lack of morality — supporting consumerism while alienating the individual, fuels the frustration underlying my subversive work. My objects and advertisements seem to have a ‘normal’ function. However, when investigated, that function is elusive, satirical, and at times, violent. Commercialism’s insatiable lust for power and money distort our lens of perception; its neon signs, billboards, junk mail, and pop-up windows interfere with our internal experience and suffocate the human spirit. I’m interested in peeling back the layers of our commodified lives in an effort to reveal our true nature.
